Why does the headquarters matter?
From a scholar’s residence to a coastal command centre

The site began as Congqing Xuan, the residence of scholar Xu Xie.

General Chen Long rebuilt it as the Kinmen regional military headquarters.

It became a military and administrative centre for naval and coastal defence.
